Launch of Four Books - Centre for Classical Studies

In 2013 the Centre for Classical Studies (then the Classics & Ancient History Progam) launched five publications by Classicists on the ANU campus in 2012–2013.

The Head of ANU’s School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics, Professor Catherine Travis, is delighted to invite you to the launch of four further publications by ANU Classicists, all published in 2013–2014.

Refreshments will be served.

Dr Paul Burton (guest editor): Culture, Identity and Politics in the Ancient Mediterranean World: Papers from a Conference in of Erich Gruen. Antichthon 47 (2013). Dr Burton is Senior Lecturer in Ancient History.

Christina F. Clarke: The Manufacture of Minoan Metal Vessels: Theory and Practice, (Studies in Mediterranean Archaeology Pocket Book 178). Uppsala: Åströms förlag, 2013. Dr Christina Clarke has been a Visiting Fellow in our School. She gained a PhD (ANU) in 2012 (co-supervised by Visiting Fellow, Dr Ann Moffatt).

Dr Greta Hawes:  Rationalizing Myth in Antiquity. Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2014. Dr Hawes is Lecturer in Classics.

Dr Ioannis Ziogas and Skempis, M (eds.) Geography, Topography, Landscape: Aspects of Space and its Representation in Greek and Roman Epic. Trends in Classics- Supplementary Volumes. Berlin/Boston: de Gruyter, 2014. Dr Ziogas is Lecturer in Classics and Head of the Centre for Classical Studies
